Simply put: In the same way that hypertext stands in relation to the text, so HyperImage stands in relation to the image.
HyperImage supports the management of image corpora, their metadata and the relationships between the images. The images might be stored on your harddrive or in an image repository. Visual argumentation chains are constructed by marking (complex) regions in images and linking these regions to a diverse number of targets (e.g. other image regions, or groups of regions or images, texts, websites, etc.). Several other modes of analysis and indexing are supported by the software to aid your research work.
This research model remains the conceptual foundation of Yenda. Yenda preserves region-based annotation, corpus-level linking and visual argumentation while moving the environment to a modern browser-native architecture.
